Panasonic Viera Launch

If you are wondering, I have been actively searching for a tv to buy for my new apartment!! Just got my keys recently.. so I am trying to complete the furnishings and one thing I am lacking is a tv and washer-dryer….

And recently, Panasonic launched it’s Smart viera tv’s which is a line of LED and plasma HDTV’s which includes smart features.. was pretty amazing I have to say – a launch with aplomb ! I say that because there were performances by

One of Malaysia’s top dancer – Chriz Ooi

Skit by Hansen Lee

Huge showcase area with smart viera tv’s of all sizes..

Now, on to the nitty gritty…

The smart features include, Voice Interaction, My Home Screen and Swipe & Share 2.0. My Home Screen enables you to gain easy access to your favorite TV content. Not only that, you can also customize the placement of the apps to create your very own original screen.

Swipe & Share 2.0: This incredible features enables you to easily transfer photos or videos from your Android or iOS device right to the Viera Smart TV!

A fun feature would be the touch pen where you can scroll on it, play games or simply design an art piece to be sent out perhaps?

All these are pretty interesting smart features of the tv which you would like to check out… hope this helps you when choosing your smart tv :)

Discovering KL – #SS2013 fit flop part 2

A continuation from my previous #ss2013 fit flop post on discovering KL from a perspective of a tourist…

After lunch, we headed to the arts and craft complex located next to restaurant Seri Melayu which clearly, I’ve never heard or been before..

Upon entering, you can clearly tell, you are entering a handmade arts and craft complex..

We were then led to a bazaar like area which was very hot as there was no A/C!

You can buy all sorts of trinkets(arts and craft) from clothes, to hand woven bags, to pottery

and even handmade jewellery

After that very hot afternoon, it was time to go back and change into our “Rule the world” outfits for the fashion party which was held at publika

Found the perfect outfit to match my fitflops !! Clearly ruled the world (I hope)

Pretty funky pair of male shoes!

When the fashion show starts, you can clearly tell that fit flops matches any outfits..

From your casual day look

To more of a beach look and feel

To formal wear

And your party look..

Besides the regional media, lucky facebook contest winners (two pairs each)  was flown to join us in Malaysia for the tour! Adorning fit flops, they did a little parade down the runway as well – good sports!

Although discovering KL as a tourist can be a little hot at times.. I am glad Fit flops gave me a chance to join everyone from different countries! The whole day definitely showed me that fit flops can be paired with any outfit and for most events , it is comfortable + looks good..

PanaHome “Eco Ideas” House in Bangsar

If you’ve noticed, the “go green” campaign is trending not just in developed countries but have reached all around the world! With technology, using going green daily items such as bags, clothes, and even cars is getting easier day by day. Personally, I have always been one to work towards saving the environment as I’ve seen and felt the ‘greenhouse effect’ especially as we live in the city!!!!

When I was told that Panasonic was launching a Panahome in Malaysia which is a combination of smart and eco home, I jumped at the chance to check it out!

Was greeted warmly by Okada who’s the corporate Information systems advisor from Panasonic, at Kl Hilton

It was at the launch itself that I found out Panasonic has been a builder and developer in Japan for about 50 years!!!! It’s interesting as we have only associated Panasonic with electronic items all this time… Learn something new everyday..

We were brought to the site itself at Jalan Ara in Bangsar to have a tour of the house where it was officially launched the Japanese way! Beating a drum until it breaks in the middle…

The built up of the area is 11,000 square feet and the house itself is 4,169 square feet… The most astounding bit is the fact that it was built in 6 months compared to some of my friends whose renovation of their houses takes up to a year?!?!?

Quite alot of people asks me how the house can be kept cool when it’s full of glass especially in malaysia??? It’s because of it’s heat insulation technology that minimizes heat transmission from external space  and a ventilation system that supplies effective flow and circulation of natural cool air! I was inside.. and it did not feel the least bit hot..

Pretty brand ambassador in the dining area

Panahome’s journey for the past 50 years, resulting in the recent Eco Product Grand Prize 2012 from the Japan Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on 28th November 2012 … the coolest part is that they now have a Smart town in Japan located in Fujisawa city which comprises of 1,000 residential homes.. time for Malaysia to have that!

Kitchen is fitted with various innovative solutions such as

Space saving cabinets that maximises all the space within the cupboard as it is a pull-down system developed by Panasonic

Lovely toilet(actually the first thing I checked out when I went into the bedrooms as that is very important to me)

Every room is equipped with energy efficient air conditioners

Now, my DREAM HOME!

Love how they turned the solar panel area at the roof top into a zen garden

A model of the house, the building exterior uses Kiratech tiles which actually CLEANS BY ITSELF(what sorcery is this?!?)

Many of us think that houses like this is a thing of the future BUT it’s already in the NOW right at our doorstep! One step closer to what we’ve always dream to build so that our world is not over-polluted and humans will survive for generations to come.. an ECONATION..

I believe you can get some pretty good ideas about how it is after visiting the show house… which is open for viewing by appointment only, you can email enquiry@panahome.com.my if you are interested :)

Happy going green
